Ken Brown, What ever happened to Mike Ballentero (spelling) He lived above the Beauty Parlor? next to Stockton Liquors on Westfield Ave.
Always seen hanging out with Bobby Ferringo, Any Idea?
I remember a lot of your classmates, Joe D’Andrea, Bill Udinzski, John Wertz, Harry Anderson (I was told his sisters still live in the same house on 35th St) Also your Go-Cart buddy Eddie Ewing LOL Not to mention Bobby Ferringo, Mike Ballentero and Nicky Hawk, All younger than me yet I knew their older siblings, Ever hear from them?
    Bake

  3. Dave, off all those people you mention, Nicky Hawk has actually been to this site, as was his sister. He lives in Florida, and left his contact info, either on the email page, or it can be found in one of the earlier Archival Vaults from last Spring, or last Summer.

John Wertz left Wilson around 10th Grade and moved to Williamsport, PA (I think) to live with his brother. He had been on the football and wrestling team at Wilson and from what I remember hearing, he continued both in Pennsylvania, and did quite well in wrestling. I think his sister Nancy is still in South Jersey. I recall seeing an obituary for their dad a couple years ago, and Nancy was in South Jersey, and John was still in PA.

I remember Mike Ballentaro, and he also had a sister a year or two older, she may have been in your class year. He was good friends with Bob Ferringo, as were the Wright Brother’s – Gary and Michael – they move to Moorestown around 7th Grade. I remember George Gumbrell and I ran into them, actually they yelled at us from a Moorestown school bus one day, when George and I were riding our bikes out there. It would be great to reconnect with all those guys. I remember riding bikes to the cemeteries on Cove Road with Bob Ferringo, that was in about 4th or 5th Grade.

Have not heard anything on any of those other guys. Here is a memory for you, I remember Joe D’Andrea from before he moved to the 34th Street area, if my memory serves me, around 1st and 2nd Grade, he lived over on Federal Street between Dudley Street and St. Joe’s Church. I wish these guys would show up here to confirm some of these memories… LOL Oh and Harry’s name was Harry Anders – he lived right next to Tim Brill, and for a few years the Hughes’ lived next to the Anders on the other side – theirs was a duplex, the Brill’s a single family.

Ken Brown, I’m not sure but I think Mike’s sisters name was Kathy, I do remember going to the Oaklyn Ballroom with Mike (Dancette) and Bobby, I was old enough to drive and would pick Mike and Bobby up and head down to Oaklyn, Mike sure could dance and the girls seemed to like the Camden bad boy image (Ask Paul, the girls from Westmont were in awe)
    LOL
I believe the Fuscia’s lived on the other side of the Hughes’ Rich (my age)
Mark and Betty Jean, Harry used to play football on 34th St. with us on a regular basis. As for Joe D. I did not know that, Steve Hale talks to Joe, Perhaps he can invite him to share some thoughts and insights, By the way another of your former classmates (Warren “Sandbag” Everett) was in attendance at our impromptue reunion in May, C’mon Warren post something already! LOL He’s so shy! LOL

    Hey Y’all,

    Let me guess!
That cute fellow to the right of the teacher is our editor Kenny Brown.

  6. Cute? This was the only time in my life I slicked my hair back. I don’t recall doing so for the picture or at any other time in my life :-) Most of my class pictures tell a horror story of haircuts. My Mom use to cut our hair (my brother and I) – but I never seemed to sit still as my hair was always chopped and a mess in most photos from Davis, but my brother’s never was – he must have sat still for his haircuts… LOL

And the teacher was Mrs. Brill, though not related to Tim Brill.

  7. Names to faces in the picture:

2nd Row:Ken Oklatner, Susan Adams, Bill Udzinski, Gail Hoffman, John Wertz.

Does anyone know the names of the unidentified students? Also in the third row, the girl between Gary and Michael Wright, her name escapes me, but she lived on 32nd and Saunders, in the big house across from Bob’s Market, and her parents had some connection to Bob’s.
