Not sure about some of the names but I’ll try my best, Hopefully there will be others that were in this class to help. Can you Imagine handling close to forty students? Mrs. Richter (sic) was such a caring Teacher, I’ll never forget when President Kennedy was shot how she held us all as if we were her very own children. God Bless her where ever she is now!

  7. Ron Henry Says:

    Bake,

My oldest brother Bill and his family lived there from about 1967 to 1977. They moved to Delran after that.

Dawn said they lived directly across from John Martin.

  8. Dave Baker Says:

Ron, That’s wild! I don’t remember any Henry’s across from my Cuz, John Martin, I remember Mark Wieland lived across from JD, In fact we used to skateboard in his driveway cause it was steep and we could do stunts on it
How much older than Karen was Bill? If he lived next to Mark did he ever yell at us for boarding in his driveway? lol

  9. Ron Henry Says:

    Bake,

They did’nt live Next to, they lived directly across from John Martin.

Across the street Dawn said. You don’t remember Billy Henry? Billy is now 48 years old. He was very good friend with all the Hale brothers.

Karen graduated in 1974 from Wilson. I think she is 54 now. I will be 50 in June. She is doing very well, she has been married for 33 years to a guy from Camden too. The Fairview section of Camden Back then. They have one girl who is now 30 years old. Wow, I cannot get over the amount of year’s we are talking about.

Anyway, I will be talking to her tomorrow and I will tell you that you said “Hello” and that you were asking about her.

  10. Dawn Henry Says:

    Hey there

Wow – we did have a steep driveway – I remember that only because back then my mom was learning how to drive a stick-shift – what fun that was while we were in the car with her trying to get up that driveway – I was friends with the Hale’s younger sister – but I absolutely remember the Hale family fondly – as well as the Antonelli’s and the D’Andrea’s and the DeFrancicso’s,

I’m hoping to get my brother Bill on here – I know he would enjoy catching up with everyone just as much as my Fav Uncle……lol

  11. Dave Baker Says:

Ron, I know not next to John, Across from him, I only remember Mark Wieland, I should remember Bill if he’s 48, I wouldn’t add any extra years to your sister if you know what’s good for you! I don’t think she’s 54!
She’s gotta be in her mid to late 30’s (am I close Karen) lol
Did Bill play any sports with us? Are there any phots of him on the Davis Grade sites? What year did he graduate Davis? Which Hale’s did he hang with? This is really bugging me! I should know him! I’ll have to ask JD!

  12. Ron Henry Says:

    Bake,

Now you have heard it from my favorite neice. lol (really)

Anyway, I think you are right about my sister Karen’s age too. Around 30 something. ;} Thanks for correcting me.

As you can see, Dawn has now gotten on and is writing to you as well.

That’s Billy’s sister. She is hmmmm, 30 something too I think! LOL

Now be nice Dawn. LOL Love you!

    Ron

  13. Dave Baker Says:

Dawn, Do you remember John Martin and me skateboarding on the steep driveway? Did Mark live next to you? I remember Sue and Tommy Blair lived on the other side of the street next to JD and the Nardi families yard was on the other side of John’s did you guys know them? If you guyd have any 34th st pictures submit them to Ken at his Email address and he’ll post them, I’m sure everybody would enjoy them. I tell Greg Hale to let Maryann Hale know your on the site (I assume that’s who you mean by the younger sister) I think it’s great Ron’s your Fav, He was always a cool kid, (wiser than his age at times) when ever I ran into him.

  14. Dave Baker Says:

  16. Ron Henry Says:

    Bake,

You wrote in an earlier post to me this: “Last time I saw you was pool side at the Cunningham Estate!”

You know I remember that night! It’s true. Gail was there also. That when I first met her.

A day or two later, Gail and I were dating. I went and asked Gary and her Mom if I could date her.

  17. Dave Baker Says:

That’s the other thing I remember about you! Your manners! Your parents should be very proud of you Ron! I’m sure you’ve passed that trait on to your children! Poolside sure was a lot of fun as I recall, So was hangin’ out at the garage watching the Master Mechanics, The Cunninghams sure could build some sweet Drag Strip Demon’s!

  18. Terry Abraham Ridgway Says:

I guess you don’t remember me Dawn—short girl with glasses–we hung out together for awhile. I was also friends with Cheryl Antonelli, Francine Scavetta, Carol Bottjer, Diane Brandimarto, Natalie Aceto, Lydia Webb and more.

    Ring any bells?

  19. Dawn Henry Says:

    Terry,

I absolutely do remember you and everyone you mentioned in your post. Cherye and I are still very good friends – we get together (or at least try to) a few times a month – she’s actually a grandmom now — Maryanne Hale fell of the face of the earth – she stopped hanging out with us and always has an excuse when Cheryle and I get together – we had some great times growing up – - I remember Francine, Carol and Diane and have to say that Natalie Aceto was the first person that came to mind when I saw your name – Natalie was the first person I knew ever to get braces — we thought her family must have been rich back then to be able to afford braces….lol – I remember Lydia as well — Email me if you want to chat outside of here – My email is Novsunrise@gmail.com…..I hope we can catch up after so many years…..

  20. Dawn Henry Says:

Come on FAV UNCLE Ron……..If my aunt is “30’something” – how can I possibly be the same age — you could have put me at “20’something” — lol

I’m feeling a “drive by” on 34th Street soon – but dont tell my father……he’ll kick your ass…..lol

As yes – Dave – My FAV UNCLE is a great guy – his parents (Nannie and Poppie) are very proud of him……just as proud as he is of his own kids…. It must be a Henry trait…..WE’RE ALL FABULOUS…..lol

  21. Dave Baker Says:

Fav Niece! lol You Henry’s are all too modest! lol DRIVE BY? Why not just visit Beruit Lebanon! lol I’m sure the Urban Re-development is doing wonders in the area! lol Ron, Niece’s are cute and everything, Don’t get suckered in to something you’ll regret! Keep your Camden wits about you my good man!
    Bake

  22. Ron Henry Says:

    Bake,

What she means by a DRIVE BY is us taking a ride all through Camden at night. We have done this before and I do it at least a few times a year.

I drive passed 3810 Westfield Ave. (which is not there anymore) thats where I was born and raised. I worked at A & R Plumbing from the age of 11 or 12 until the age of 18. Then down 40th & High St. where I bought my first house at 341 N40th back in 1979 and sold it a year after my son was born in 1982.

From there I go down Westfield to 36th make a right and Davis School is on your left. Left on High to 34th. Right on 34th pass 464 N34th then turn around and go back down 34th to Westfield, make a right onto Westfield and go to the street after the tennis courts. Turn Left to Federal St. (Can’t think of that street right now) Then left on Federal pass Wilson and go to RT 130 South and head home to Bellmawr. LOL

They are scared to death when we all do it. LOL I tell them if you act like a victim you will be come one so stop acting like your scared. LOL Its funny. One time we did it and Dawn had her daughter with us and she was about 17 at the time and she told my brother (her grand-pop) and he called me and said “What the hell are you doing taking them down Camden” LOL They enjoyed it so much that when they do come over my house we most time go for the DRIVE BY. LOL

Oh Karen said to say “hello” and that she remembers you being cute. AHHH She remembers your blonde hair being neatly combed. Said that you were a very nice boy! AHHH LOL

And thank you for you nice comment about my manners. I was mannerly to all my elders.

    Ken Brown,

Thanks for putting on the pictures, I will try to get the other ones scanned and then email them to you so they are not so blurry. Sorry about that.

Well, I will talk to all of you tomorrow night. Have a good day everyone.

    Ron

  23. Dave Baker Says:

Ron, So nice of you to share your roots with your older brothers children! lol Maybe that’s what Dawn likes about you (The Dangerous Side) lol
So Karen says I was cute? Then ask her why all the girls chased Steve Allen home and not me? Guess he was handsome! lol
    Bake

  24. Ron Henry Says:

Dangerous side? What are you talking about? LOL

Come on, a real Camden Boy would never say that. LOL

You mean that you don’t ever ride throgh the old neighborhood?

    Dawn grew up there too.

I don’t know about Steve Allen, I will ask her tomorrow. LOL

  25. Dave Baker Says:

Ron, My license to carry only applies to Pa, I realize there is no experation date on my ammo, However I’m not one for excessive paperwork or overnite accomidations in Camden’s County Facilities! lol
I have a serious zero tolerance when it comes to self preservation!
    Bake

  26. Ron Henry Says:

    Hey Bake,

Was talking to Karen today and she said she don’t even remember Steve Allen. Hmmm…..She remembered you!

She does not like to get on the computer at all. In fact, I don’t think she knows how to turn one on. LOL She really has seen none of the girls from school in years. She is happy being a great house wife to a good man I guess!

Anyway, just thought I let you know that. Talk to you later,

    Ron

  27. PAT ANTONELLI Says:

Ron Henry – dont underestimate that wife of yours, I am sure she knows more than shes letting on – smart gal!

Dave – All the guys in our neighborhood were good looking. Too bad they were all like brothers to me ( pain in the butt) I taught some of you to iron and sew.

I remember the Hale boys sneaking out of their house and coming to my house. They would pop my screen and open my window, crawl through the window into my room, pop open the grate between my sister’s room and my room, jump down to the basement, to the back of my brother’s closet , pop the back of the closet or use the basement door. Mrs. Hale (smart women that she was finally caught on and would call my house) – the boys were clever putting pillows and blankets to make it look like they were sleeping. but she was smarter. Most moms are.

dave – you dont remember the Henry’s ? Well they were quiet unlike the majority of the neighborhood kids.

  28. Dawn Henry Says:

Patty – I agree with you on those Hale boys sneaking around – - not to mention any names “RAY” – but he did alot of sneaking into rooms when I used to sleep over their house – uh huh- but you didnt hear that from me….and Mrs. Hale — NOTHING got past her — she was a small lady but she could kick your ass — – .certainly some good times on 34th Street…..

  29. Jimmy Parrish Says:

    Hey Dave,

Who was our second grade teacher? I thought Miss Horton taught us. I thought she was a good one.
