Alot of fun when I was very little, to stand at the fence and watch the truck action.

  2. I agree with that one George. Even in WWHS, I used to run past this when I ran Cross Country. 36th street was a part of the actual WWHS course!!!

  3. Don’t know what year you graduated, but our cross country course, was over by Camden High School. My most memorable race, I beat Stan who played basketball for Collingswood, but came back to coach at Wilson with Gary Williams. As for Campbell Soup warehouse?? I watched it being built, then in the summer, the truck driver would slowwww down so we could actually take tomatoes off the back end. (And it was the Main Office then too)

Hey R Seher, I and Nick Graduated in 76. I lived on Beideman Ave. between Pleasant and Lemuel. thats great you got to see it built, where did you live? You were lucky with the driver slowing down, we had to climb into box cars to get our stuff.

  5. Al Dobbins Says:

Is that Ralph Seher from the Class of 1962? I graduated in 1963 and also remember the Campbell’s warehouse being built. I also remember before the overpass was built on 36th Street and also on State Street. We had to wait for the trains to go by before the gates would go up and we could pass. Look at Marlton Pike Acme (now Cousins) and see what I said about the other Acmes that were in Cramer Hill and one in North Camden.

  6. Al Dobbins Says:

Oh yes, Ralph. I remember Stan Pawlak playing for Collingswood. He also graduated in 1963. His father, Stan, Sr., was in Wilson’s first graduating class of 1934, and he was my bookkeeping treacher when I was a sophomore.

  7. Fred LeDrew Says:

Mr Pawlak was my bookeeping teacher at WWHS in my soph yr (‘57). He taught the basics and did it very well. That course served me very well throughout my business career. It was the very foundation for my financial education. Mr Pawlak was strict and an excellent teacher. He was the coach of Wilson’s baseball team as well.

  8. George Gumbrell Says:

Hey, when was the warehouse built?

  9. George Gumbrell Says:

I don’t know George, but I will find out for you, since you lived near it too.

Grew up one block from the Campbell Soup Warehouse. We used to use the Campbell Soup Tower to set our Sundial.. it was due north . We spent many a day on the tracks next to the plant and the lot next to it. My Siblings and I went to the Church just over the 36th Street Bridge, Hope Memorial Baptist Church. I remember David Nevius from that time.
    Campbell Soup…MMMmmm MMMMmmmm Good..

Campbell Soup Warehouse was very close to our house. Remember walking past it going to church, right over the 36th St bridge or riding my bike to friends who lived in Cramer Hill. I think there was a whistle that rang at 12 noon and 5pm every weekday.

  13. Ralph "sears" 34th ST Says:

Well, it must be around 1957 58 that it was built. One correction, Stan graduated in 1962 from Collingswood, now lives in Cherry Hill and yes, Stan the bookkeeping teacher was his father, who also taught me bookkeeping. (He saw the race, where I had a bet with teammates, and I not only beat Stan, I beat one of my teammates who had a bet with me) I think I was one of the only 2 guys in that class, with all the rest being girls. The other guy in that class, and I, both went into the Marines. As for George, at that time, I lived in the Acres (Beideman Ave) could see the little league ball field in the back of the building from my bedroom. Used to go past Campbell’s when we went exploring over to the River? During Wilson years, lived on 34th St. Al, I will look you up in my yearbook. But, please keep in mind, when I went into the Marines, I never ever returned to Camden or surrounding area to live. So, anything that happened after that, I have little physical knowledge of, but I do know what happened before graduation.

  14. hey glen nasuti, did you have a brother named gary? if so a I used to go to your house all the time. gary was a science nut. He was into that stuff big time. We used to do to have chemestry sets and do all kind of things, with them. He was in cub scouts with me, too..
