Who could ever forget the Castle on the Hill!My father went there and my mother started there but transferred to Wilson at the end of her junior year.I’ll never forget playing against some of the greatest basketball teams of that time.As a sophmore I had to line up next to Jeff Smith during a foul shot and I felt like I was only as tall as his waist.Got christened by a great elbow as he secured the rebound.I think one of the greatest feelings was finally beating them in the March of Dimes tournament in my senior year. They paid us back twice later in the season. It was great playing them as so many of our friends from Davis
went to Camden instead of Wilson because of Marlton Pike being the dividing line.I wonder what kind of teams we would have had if there was just the one high school.

Taught Art at Camden HS from 1974 – 1991 Guidance counselor Cramer 1997 2004 Guidance Counslor Davis 2004 2008 Started teaching in 1965 worked for the Camden School system for 43 years. I have no regrets and many great memories. And worked with some of the greatest people you could ever meet. Some students so gifted it was an honor and a privlege to have them in my classroom. Not retired a yr. and I feel a great loss when looking back. The Castle, holds more for me, than I can say. The kids I met I worked with, loved now I can say it. At the time the word never crossed my lips when referring to students. No matter how big they were, no matter if they wanted to be called men. They were kids and will allways be kids (children to me)And I tried to teach each and everyone of them as one of my own. And I now, only can think of my entire experience with love. And I miss them all, they are in my thoughts constantly. May I have touched them as they have touched me. Mr. John Borges
